International Women’s Day is an annual social media communications campaign we began in 2016 to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion for Sumitomo Chemical Group Companies of the Americas. The yearly campaigns highlight and celebrate the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women around the world, including those at SCAI’s Group Companies, to forge a better world.

Sumitomo Chemical has understood throughout its history that harmony with stakeholders is its number one priority. Diversity and inclusion support equality for all and are a vital resource for the company’s competitiveness. Women bring unique leadership, emotional intelligence, organizational, planning, problem-solving skills, and more to the workplace, providing a significant and positive advantage in a complex and ever-changing business world. We love producing the annual IWD social media campaigns to celebrate women’s achievements.


Overview: Campaign planning, theme, creative direction, campaign design, photo direction, motion video production, and posting and distribution.


Challenges

Creativity doesn’t happen overnight; clarity and unique differentiation evolve innovation and brand alignment. The creative direction overcomes challenges by connecting the brand with viewers and generating impact and engagement.

What we did

Our creative visual storytelling highlights remarkable women and their representative Group Companies. The personal profiles celebrate employees through the entire month of March to bring awareness of the achievements of women during each annual International Women’s Day campaign.
